The volunteers of the family charity, Home-Start Uttlesford were treated to an end of year celebration at Spains Hall in Finchingfield, the majestic home of their patron Lady Rosemary Ruggles-Brise.
A wonderful morning was enjoyed with Sir Tim Ruggles-Brise giving an informative talk on the history of Spains Hall, a country estate dating back nearly 1000 years which has been home to the Ruggles-Brise family for 250 years. The Estate comprises of 2000 acres, the magnificent 15th century Spains Hall itself, the Stables complex, various farm buildings and holiday cottages, all of which have been sympathetically restored in recent times to provide first-class facilities for weddings and functions.
The team of hardworking Home-Start volunteers had the chance to relax and catch up with each other, whilst enjoying a tour of the house, a glass of warm mulled cider and a light lunch. A truly special day for some truly special people who are pictured below.
